Enhancing preventive healthcare with AI, EHE Health strategically redesigns digital solutions to boost user retention and minimize drop-offs.

EHE Health, the Original Prevention Network, has led preventive healthcare for over 100 years, focusing on comprehensive care to enhance health and longevity.

EHE partnered with us to transform preventive healthcare through AI. We developed a digital platform that integrates data from wearables, healthcare providers, and personalized coaching, creating a comprehensive health management tool. This platform serves as a lifelong health partner, providing personalized insights and guidance to enhance well-being.

Our work significantly increased user engagement and trust, boosting user retention by 23% and reducing health assessment drop-offs by 54% in initial user testing. These results highlight the platform’s effectiveness and our impactful contribution to preventive healthcare innovation.

Unified Health & Tech Integration

We needed to develop a platform that integrates data from wearables, coaching, health exams, and doctors' action plans. The goal was to create an intuitive, comprehensive tool for daily health management that adapts to user feedback and is accessible to all tech levels.

Tailoring Personalized Preventive Care

We aimed to design a system that adapts to each member's unique health journey and provides personalized guidance. The existing comprehensive health report was a large, jargon-heavy PDF, which was often hard to comprehend. We needed to create a more user-friendly, dynamic format.

Navigating Extensive Health Assessments

One of the most significant barriers for users was the comprehensive health assessment, a crucial precursor to a doctor's appointment. This assessment, which included over a hundred questions covering various aspects of a patient's life, proved to be cumbersome. The extensive nature of these forms often resulted in user fatigue, inaccuracies, and, at times, deterred people from using the platform.

Building Trust and Quality

In healthcare, trust is not just an asset; it's a necessity. Our platform faced a dual challenge: ensuring that every data point, recommendation, and insight was of top-tier quality, while also making them digestible and actionable for users. With the ambition of becoming a daily-use tool, the platform needed to embody reliability, ensuring members felt informed, empowered, and secure in their health decisions.

Managing Healthcare Compliance

The digital health sector is entwined with a complex web of legalities and regulations. Meeting these stringent standards, particularly in data privacy, was essential. Our design had to balance compliance with user-centricity, integrating safety, reliability, and accessibility to ensure both regulatory adherence and user trust.

As a solution, we designed a suite of tools that combined technology and user insights to advance preventive healthcare. Based on thorough research and aligned with EHE Health's values, these tools enhance engagement, improve health outcomes, and ensure compliance.

Comprehensive Health Dashboard

We developed a comprehensive health dashboard that seamlessly integrates data from wearables, health exams, coaching, and doctor-prescribed plans. This platform provides members with a detailed view of their health status, history, and future goals. It also offers personalized recommendations, communication channels with healthcare providers, mental health support, and educational resources. The dashboard guides users on their health journey, empowering them to make informed decisions and transforming the platform into a trusted daily health companion.

TAILORING PERSONALIZED PREVENTIVE CARE

We designed adaptive care pathways using AI-driven algorithms and individual health data. These pathways monitor progress and provide tailored recommendations, ensuring the platform acts as a dynamic health mentor, guiding members toward their long-term health goals. Additionally, we replaced the complex, jargon-heavy health reports with a user-friendly, dynamic format that simplifies information and adapts based on user input. This new approach enhances comprehension and accessibility, making it easier for users to understand and follow their personalized care plans.

Streamlining Health Assessments

The traditional comprehensive health assessment, containing over a hundred questions covering diverse facets of a patient's life, posed a significant obstacle. It was not uncommon for users to spend exhaustive hours completing it before their doctor's appointment. Such extensive assessments could deter users and increase the chances of incomplete or rushed answers, compromising the accuracy of the data.

Addressing this, my team and I introduced the "Health Concierge" - an AI-driven assistant designed to make the assessment experience more manageable and engaging. Instead of overwhelming users with a long questionnaire, the Health Concierge dynamically presents questions at opportune moments, breaking the daunting task into bite-sized interactions.

Simultaneously, our robust onboarding process ensured that users were not starting from scratch. By confirming the baseline data that EHE Health already possessed and gradually gathering new information, we significantly reduced the initial data entry burden. This ensured that when users first accessed the platform, their dashboard was already personalized. With the help of the Health Concierge, they were then seamlessly guided through the process, understanding what's expected next, and how to progress through their health journey.

Quality Information & Transparent Data Management

Trust is pivotal in healthcare. Users need both access and assurance of data's authenticity. Aiming for our platform to be a daily go-to, every data point had to be impeccable. We collaborated with medical experts to vet all health insights rigorously. Transparent data management further illuminated the origins of information, ensuring trust and clarity.

The digital health landscape is rife with regulations, especially concerning data privacy. As we ventured to create a platform that users would trust with their health data, compliance wasn't just a checkbox; it was central to our design ethos.

I took the initiative to embed stringent data privacy protocols within the platform. Simultaneously, we developed user-friendly guides on data usage policies, making it easy for members to understand how their data was used. This harmonized approach ensured the platform stood robust against regulatory challenges, enhancing trust and safety.

In enhancing the EHE Health platform, our goal extended beyond basic engagement. With the AI-driven Health Concierge, we focused on creating a foundation of trust and intuitive support for every user, making their health management journey seamless and informed.
